Rustler End Weekend Classic with a Come from Behind Win Over Eastern Wyoming
(Riverton, Wyo.) The Lady Rustlers were home for the first time this season as they hosted the CWC Classic at Rustler Gymnasium. The Rustlers opened the tournament against an undefeated Western Nebraska team. The Cougars game away with another win as they defeated the hometown Rustlers 51-40. The Rustlers failed to have anyone score in double digits as Kiara Skinner and Hannah Beede were leading scorers with 9 points each. Skinner also led in rebounds with 7.
The Rustlers came back Saturday to defeat Eastern Wyoming 68-62, after being down by 17 at half-time. The Rustlers were defeated by Eastern earlier this season, at Torrington. The Rustlers were prepared for the press this time around. The Rustlers were led in scoring by Beede with 20. Stephanie Smith added another double-double to her career with 11 points, 12 rebounds and also had 6 blocks in the game.
The Rustlers head to San Diego to compete in a tournament before the break. They will be back at Rustler Gymnasium with the men January 9 & 10 for their first conference matches, hosting Gillette College & Sheridan College.

Women Win One, Lose One on the Road
(Rock Springs, Wyo) The Lady Rustlers traveled to Rock Springs, Wy over the weekend facing Salt Lake Community College and Utah State University – Eastern. The Rustler opened the weekend falling to #10 Salt Lake CC 77-51. The Bruins held the Rustlers to just 51 points. Sophomore Jolonna Sazue scored 13 and Kiara Skinner scored 14.
The Rustlers came back Saturday to defeat USU-E 80-79. Stephanie Smith had 17 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots. Hannah Beede and Kiara Skinner each added an additional 16 points. The Rustlers held the Golden Eagles to under 30% shooting.
The Rustlers are home for the first time this season as they host their classic December 5 & 6. The Rustlers will host Western Nebraska, Friday 6:00pm and Eastern Wyoming, Saturday 2:00pm.

Women Defeat Colby CC Before Falling to Nationally Ranked Western Nebraska
(Scottsbluff, Neb) Over the weekend the women competed in Western Nebraska's Classic. The women handled Colby CC, 71-44 Friday night. Sophomore Jocelyn Jones scored a season high 20 points while also grabbing 7 rebounds for the Rustlers. Sophomore Stephanie Smith grabbed 10 rebounds and made 5 blocks.
Saturday the Rustlers played tournament host, #16 ranked Western Nebraska. The Rustlers fell to the Cougars 67-48. Hannah Beede led the Rustlers with 12 points, Jolonna Sazue had 11, and Lashyra Butler scored 10. Smith once again made a defensive presence with 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Smith currently has 33 blocks in the first 7 games for the Rustlers, making her the 5th ranked blocker in the Nation.
The Lady Rustlers hit the Road over the Holiday Weekend to play Salt Lake CC and Utah State University - Eastern in Rock Springs, WY.

Men Nearly Hit Century Mark in Win Over Utah All-Stars
(Riverton, Wyo) In a late add to the Rustler Schedule, the Men's Basketball team came away with another win, defeating the Utah All-Stars out of Salt Lake, Utah. In a game that began with a few lead changes, the Rustler Men pulled away in the second half capture a 96-74 victory. Local athlete Xavier Webb was 4 of 6 from the 3-point range, scoring 12 points and being named the Gatorade player of the Game.

Rustlers Defeat Colorado Northwestern on the Road
(Rangely, CO) In their second matchup against the Spartans this season, the Rustler men refused to hold back as they defeated Colorado Northwestern 82-35. They held the Spartans to just 7 points in the first half. Sophomore Bryce Canda was 100% from the field and the free throw line, raking in 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. Eimer Lopez scored 18 for the Rustlers, as well. Sophomore Xavier Webb was the third leading scorer for the Rustlers with 14 points.
The Rustlers will play at home Saturday vs the Utah All-Stars at 3:00pm in Rustler Gymnasium.

Women Split on the Road at Northwest College Classic
(Powell, Wyo) The Lady Rustlers defeat former Region IX competitor Dawson CC 73-43 in the opening game of the Trappers Classic. Sophomore Jolonna Sazue netted a season high 26 points, just three points shy of matching her career high of 29.
The Rustlers fell by just two points the following day to Bismarck State College, 79-77. Sophomore Jocelyn Jones had 18 points & 19 rebounds, leading all Rustlers in Scoring. Sophomore Tonya Busse grabbed 11 rebounds.

Rustlers Fall to LCCC, Bounce Back to Defeat Eastern Wyoming
(Cheyenne, Wyo) 28 turnovers hurt the Rustler men as they fell to Laramie County CC on the road. Freshman Hayden Dalton and Khalid Washington led the team with 11 points each. Sophomore Eimer Lopez had 10 points. Turnovers and foul trouble plagued the Rustlers, who were unable to take recover.
The Rustlers returned the next day defeating Eastern Wyoming College 74-62. Washington led the Rustlers with 22 points. Dalton and Sophomore Bryce Canda each scored 16 and Lopez came in with 11.
The Rustler men return to the road November 19th to take on Colorado Northwestern.

Rustler Women Fall to Eastern Wyoming on the Road
(Torrington, Wyo) The Rustler Women's Basketball team fell to Eastern Wyoming on the road in Torrington, Tuesday, 68-52. Eastern grabbed the lead from the start and never looked back, putting on a full court press that the Rustlers struggled to get by. The Rustlers were able to get within single-digits of Eastern, but were unable to take the lead.
Sophomore Stephanie Smith grabbed a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots. Sophomores Jolonna Sazue and Kiara Skinner each scored 8 points as well, for the Rustlers.
The Rustlers are back on the road this weekend. They will compete in Powell, WY at the Northwest College Classic where they will take on Bismarck State College and former Region IX competitor Dawson Community College. They will meet Eastern Wyoming again on December 5th for the Classic held at Rustler Gymnasium.

CWC Signs RHS Athlete Kenisha Muehler
(Riverton, Wyo) At 1:00 p.m. today, Riverton High School senior Kenisha Muehler penned her signature on a Letter of Intent to join the Lady Rustler volleyball team at Central Wyoming College. "I am excited to play volleyball at CWC," said Muehler. She will be studying pre-medicine and has already accumulated credits in the dual credit program through RHS. She is the daughter of Jason and Stacie Muehler.
Coach Stauffenberg said, "Kenisha has a lot of passion for the game. I watched her play every position in the front row during her high school career and she always gave it 100%. She will continue to grow here at Central. "

Men's Basketball Splits in Home Opening Weekend
(Riverton, Wyo)The Rustler Men fell to Utah State University – Eastern in their home opener, 76-74. The game was close through its entirety with the largest lead for Central being 10 points with 15 minutes remaining in the game. Sophomores Eimer Lopez and Bryce Canda led the team with 19 and 15 points. Freshman Khalid Washington ended with 11.
In the second game of the tournament, the Rustler men defeated Colorado Northwestern CC 64-46. The Rustlers shot 50% from the field and 100% from the free-throw line, taking the lead early and never looking back. Canda led the team with 20 points.

CWC Rustlers Defeat Sheridan College in Region IX Opener
(Casper, Wyo) The CWC Rustler volleyball team soundly defeated Sheridan College in three straight sets with scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-19 in their tournament opener today at Casper College. Coach Stauffenberg called it "the biggest win of the season" and had nothing but praise for her team. Rustler Kalynn Dahlke posted a double-double logging 18 kills and 10 digs. She was also 17 of 17 in serving with 4 aces. Team totals were 37 kills, 49 digs, and 7 service aces.
